Sibling spillover effects in bad behaviour

Description

Based on the National Pupil Database (NPD) this project is seeking to answer the question, what is the direct effect of an older sibling’s bad behaviour on his/her younger sibling’s bad behaviour? Siblings are defined as co-residential pupils, and bad behaviour is measured by temporary exclusions from school and unauthorised absences. By assessing the role of siblings in behavioural issues we plan to contribute to the literatures on child development and on intra-family transmission of educational opportunity.
