Pilot Application in Urban Landscapes – Towards integrated city observatories for greenhouse gases (ICOS-Cities)
The project supports the European Green Deal by creating capabilities to observe and verify greenhouse gas emissions from densely populated urban areas across Europe.
The project aims to increase our understanding of specific needs of greenhouse gas emission assessment in urban environments; it compares available and novel observational approaches and implements an integrated concept for a city observatory, providing unique data sets that feed diverse modelling approaches, scientific studies and will inform the provision of services provided by the city administrations.
Elements of a pilot city observatory will be implemented in a large (Paris), medium (Munich) and small (Zurich) European city.
ISER are involved in the design and assessment of bespoke panel surveys of the general population in Paris and Munich and are specifically responsible for sampling and weighting of the survey data.
