Abstract:

The twelfth wave of the Innovation Panel (IP12) focused on the collection of biomarkers. The sample was allocated to three groups: (1) nurses conducted the annual interview and collected a range of biomarkers; (2) social interviewers carried out the survey and collected a limited set of biomarkers; and (3) sample members were invited to complete an interview online. For groups 2 and 3 the kit required to collect biomarkers was supplied, and the biological samples posted back to ISER by the participants. This paper describes the design of IP12, and the protocols used to collect the biomarkers.
