Summary:

This report seeks to provide evidence of variance in workplace violence by industrial sector to inform national policy development. We use two, robust, nationally representative datasets and systematically examine variance in prevalence by industrial sector and occupational group to determine where efforts to minimise violence exposure might be better targeted. Our findings provide crucial insights to policy discussions which until now have been reliant on research without comprehensive oversight of workplace violence at national levels. We conclude with a brief reflection on what these high rates of workplace violence, alongside widespread fears of violence, mean for workers in modern Britain.
