Summary:
Key points: Separation led to a sustained period of elevated residential mobility for both men and women. Separated men and women were most likely to move to private renting. Separated women were also likely to move to social renting whereas men moved to homeownership.
Separated women with children were most likely to move to social or private renting whereas those without children were most likely to move to private renting, followed by living with relatives or friends.
