Abstract:

This paper describes the design and implementation of the Immigrant and Ethnic Minority Boost sample incorporated into Wave 6 of Understanding Society. In combination with the remainder of the Understanding Society sample, this provides a nationally representative probability sample of immigrants and ethnic minorities in the UK. We demonstrate that the achieved sample has good coverage properties and we argue that it provides a highly valuable research resource.
