Summary:

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will publish a new experimental statistics publication on income dynamics in March 2017. The statistics will provide data on changes in incomes in the UK including a measure of the extent to which people experience persistently low income. They will be based on analysis of the Understanding Society survey, a longitudinal study about 21st century UK life and how it’s changing. This session will include a summary of the results, as well as a detailed description of the methodology used to construct the estimates. We will use feedback from the session to refine future issues of the publication, as well as getting ideas on how to further develop the methodology used.
