Summary:

This chapter considers a number of hypotheses relating to the pathways
or 'trajectories' of individuals in terms of their labour force
participation and health status. The author uses data from adjacent
waves of the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) to determine answers
to questions about whether past experience affects current employment
participation and health status, whether labour force participation and
health status patterns cluster into groups, and whether labour force
participation and health status run in parallel.
