Abstract:

The paper describes a general sample design for household surveys in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The design is flexible, allowing it to be adapted to the needs of particular surveys. There is flexibility in sample size, number of PSUs, extent of clustering, sampling fractions within strata. The statistical properties of the design and practicalities of implementation are discussed in the context of alternative possible designs and the constraints imposed by the situation in BiH.
