Abstract:

This paper describes what the Europanel can tell us on a broad set of issues surrounding the elderly. The Europanel is an annual longitudinal survey carried out at the level of the European Union with a common questionnaire and similar sampling procedures. We focus on health status, labor market activity, in particular labor force participation and exit rates into retirement, income, housing and durables.
