Abstract:

The Resolution Foundation welcomes the Treasury Select Committee's inquiry into Budget Measures and Low-Income Households. The Resolution Foundation is an independent research and policy organisation concerned with how low earners fare in today's mixed economy. By 'low earners' we are referring to the group of people who are largely independent of state support (with less than 20% of income from benefits) and who earn up to median incomes—a subset of the low-income households affected by the abolition of the 10p tax rate.
