Summary:

Results from analysis of the longitudinal survey ‘Understanding Society’, looking at persistent low income and changes in household income. Income Dynamics (ID) presents information on changes in income over time. It presents findings on persistent low income. Individuals are in persistent low income if they are in relative low income for at least three out of four consecutive annual interviews. ID also includes analysis of individual movements within the overall income distribution over time. This includes analysis of entries into and exits from low income, together with analysis of how different income, employment and demographic events are linked to those low income entries and exits.
