Abstract:

This paper was an exploratory 'think-piece' written for British Telecommunications plc in 2002 to explore some of the potential value of analysing time-use diary data in order to understand how their existing and potential British domestic customers spend time, what time they cannot give up and what time-use may be open to 'substitution' for telecommunications services. The report should be viewed as work in progress.
