Abstract:

It is becoming impossible to ignore, and irresponsible to avoid, the growing effects of computing and telecommunications on business and work. That being so, this book has been compiled to provide greater awareness, more information and sound advice on these new digital technologies. It is aimed at business managers and researchers who need up to date intelligence to help them direct their operations successfully or find attractive commercial opportunities. To this aim, we sought out significant contributors from various disciplines and as a result present over two hundred essays on advances in leading edge technologies and the implications for business and work.
