Abstract:

The Sustainable Cities and the Ageing Society research focuses on two key drivers that will shape the future of the UK's towns and cities:

* The impact of an ageing society on how and where people will want to live;
* The Government's commitment to delivering an urban renaissance based upon sustainable cities and enhanced urban liveability.

The findings and recommendations in this report are those of the consultant authors and do not necessarily represent the views or proposed policies of Communities and Local Government.
