Researchers guide to using the British Household Panel Survey and other international longitudinal datasets

Publication date

The Guide has been prepared by ASD Social Research Division as a technical manual to support the work of researchers, statisticians and economists who commission research on longitudinal data from OECD household surveys. It provides information on data-files available in the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS), European Community Household Panel (ECHP), Panel Comparability Project (PACO), Consortium of Household Panels for European Socio-economic Research (CHER) and other surveys from across Europe and North America.
The Guide offers practical advice to researchers on analysing panel survey data, help in designing research projects that can make effective use of available data, and advice on gaining access to international datasets.
