Policy event on new evidence on life in Britain after Recession

This Understanding Society event, aimed at policy makers and campaigners working on social and economic issues, will look behind the headlines at the legacy of the recession and debate the choices for securing a programme of balanced growth over the next five years.

It will share evidence from Understanding Society’s new Insights 2014 report, a collection of findings about the changing lives of individuals and households in Britain.

Key speakers include Professor Jane Elliot, Chief Executive, Economic and Social
Research Council,
and Mark Easton, Home Editor, BBC
News who will chair a panel discussion with:

  • Professor Ann Berrington, University of Southampton;
  • Paul Johnson, Director of Institute for Fiscal Studies
  • Nick Pearce, Director of Institute for Public Policy Research
  • Phillip Blond, Director of ResPublica

The event takes place on Thursday, 30 October 2014 from 16:00 to 18:30 at the Hoare Memorial Hall in
Church House Conference Centre, Westminster. The closing date for registration is 23 October.
