A call for proposals for academics and researchers to submit proposals for methodological studies to be incorporated on the Understanding Society Innovation Panel Wave 5 is now open.
The Innovation Panel is intended to provide a major opportunity for longitudinal survey methodology-related research.
Studies could relate to the design of survey instruments such as question wording, scale format, item order or to survey design features such as procedures intended to reduce non-response or to improve fieldwork efficiency). Data collection for wave 5 will take place in early spring 2012 and will involve a mixed-mode design, with web, telephone and face-to-face interviewing.
The deadline for receipt of proposals is June 2 2011.
Peter Lynn, Professor of Survey Methodology at ISER, said:
“This initiative supports a major purpose of the Innovation Panel, which is to develop and evaluate methodologies for longitudinal survey research. This is achieved primarily by incorporating experiments of various kinds into the design of the Panel. In the past we have received a wide range of exciting and innovative experiments and studies through these calls and we look forward to receiving suggestions for IP 5.”
Full details of the call for proposals are available on the Understanding Society website.
