Research Topic

Research on social capital, parental age an educational outcomes for a child. The survey aims to bring together two strands of research. One of them follows the tradition of James S. Coleman in studying the impact of family social capital on educational outcomes. The positive impact of parental resources can be strengthened if accompanied by social capital. The other perspective emphasizes the effect of parental age on welfare of their offspring. The children of older parents are able to create better opportunities for their offspring to advance educationally, then what kind of role does the social capital play? It is proposed that older parents provide more possibilities for their children to be in face-to-face contact with them thereby leading to higher levels of education
