Please join us for the presentation of our new research findings on the impact of universal free breakfast provision in primary schools. The study, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, investigated the impact of breakfast schemes run between 2007 and 2024 on children’s attainment, absence and punctuality, body weight, social-emotional wellbeing, as well as parents’ financial situation.
The findings will be presented by Professor Birgitta Rabe and Dr Angus Holford from the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex.
For those joining in person, a buffet lunch will be served before the event starts.
This event will be of particular interest to policy makers, school food campaigners, head teachers and school leaders, school food providers, children’s health and nutrition specialists and academics, in light of the national roll-out of the government’s Free Breakfast Clubs. This is a hybrid event and we will send the link for those attending online nearer the time.
