Abstract:

Understanding Society aims to provide users with the highest quality data for research and policy purposes. To increase sample sizes and population representativeness a general population boost sample (GPS2) was added at wave 14. To contribute to our understanding of the value of GPS2 at wave 14 we have investigated data quality of the data collected from continuing and boost samples using the European Statistical System’s five dimensions of quality. For some of the dimensions, the quality of the data is identical as they were collected and processed in the same way. However, there are differences between the two samples in terms of the relevance, reliability and accuracy of the data that are investigated.
