The Gender Gap in Pay Progression: Job Mobility and Job Ladders – Westminster workshop

People on an escalator

The Gender Gap in Pay Progression: Job Mobility and Job Ladders is an open one day academic workshop at Broadway House, Westminster, organised by the ESRC Research Centre on Micro-Social Change at the Institute for Social and Economic Research.

Despite significant progress in the last decades, gender inequalities in the labour market remain pervasive. Women are paid less, are less likely to be promoted, and are less able to access well-paying jobs. As part of our ESRC-funded project, The Gender Gap in Pay Progression: Job Mobility and Job Ladders, we are organising a one-day workshop to focus on these issues.

The workshop will bring together leading scholars in the field to discuss their latest cutting edge research. Confirmed speakers include Prof. Hadas Mandel (Tel Aviv University), Prof Klarita Gerxhani (University of Amsterdam), Dr Pilar Gonalons Pons (University of Pennsylvania), Dr Bercay Ozcan ( LSE), Dr Vanessa Gash (City University), and Silvia Avram (University of Essex).

Organisers:

Dr Silvia Avram, University of Essex

Dr Daria Popova, University of Essex

Prof Susan Harkness, University of Bristol
