Simulating tax reforms and fiscal gain in the Andean Region

Dr Holguer Xavier Jara Tamayo, Research Fellow at ISER’s Centre for Microsimulation and Policy Analysis (CeMPA) led a recent project for the Inter- American Development Bank, the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean, simulating the impact of tax reforms and the consequential fiscal gain in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia, using our microsimulation model.

Results of the project have appeared in two publications

Additionally, the research findings have been showcased in a book, How to Accelerate Economic Growth and Strengthen the Middle Class in Latin America published by the Bank and edited by the General Director of the Department of Andean countries, launched at an online event Strategies for Economic and Social Growth After COVID-19
