This morning event, on Thursday 12 November (9.45am-12.45pm) at 1 Victoria Street (BIS Conference Centre) in Westminster, is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science and will showcase new UK research and investigation into how to measure living standards, featuring the work of Professor Stephen Jenkins (LSE), Professor Stephen Pudney (University of Essex) and Professor Mike Brewer (University of Essex and IFS).
This event is for policy makers, think tanks, government researchers, third sector researchers and campaigners and those looking at how the UK assesses living standards, the persistence of poverty and the dynamics of poverty.
There will be a panel discussion about the policy implications and questions.
Panellists include Trevor Huddleston, Chief Analyst at Department of Work and Pensions, Melanie Pitt from HM Treasury, Katie Schmuecker from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Matthew Whittaker from The Resolution Foundation.
The event will be chaired by Alison Garnham, Chief Executive of the Child Poverty Action Group.
The 13th annual Festival of Social Science takes place from 7-14 November 2015 with over 200 free events nationwide.
