Call for papers: Understanding Changes in Income Inequality in the Austerity Period

ISER invites researchers to submit papers for a workshop on Understanding Changes in Income Inequality in the Austerity Period, which will be held at the University of Essex, UK, on 15-16 September 2014.

The workshop is jointly organised by the ESRC Research Centre on Micro-Social Change and the EUROMOD Project, both of which are based at the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex.

We welcome empirical papers about any aspect of inequality in economic outcomes (household income, consumption, wealth, earnings, employment) in developed societies, and papers that assess how welfare states are responding, or might respond. Our keynote speaker will be Richard Blundell (UCL and Institute for Fiscal Studies).

Timetable: Please send a paper or extended abstract to hxjara@essex.ac.uk by 28 February 2014. Notification of acceptance will be by 31 March 2014.
Costs and other arrangements: There is no registration fee. We can cover speakers’ reasonable travel expenses and one night’s accommodation.
