This seminar will showcase recent research using child and family data from Understanding Society, the UK Household Longitudinal Study. The presentations will explore how family environments shape children’s socio-emotional development and mental health, using innovative longitudinal and network analysis approaches. Speakers will present findings on the role of family background in early childhood socio-emotional difficulties and on patterns of mental health symptoms within families over time. They will also reflect on their experiences using Understanding Society data, providing practical insights and lessons for current and prospective users of the study.
