Impactful Social Science – How Social Science is helping to tackle global grand challenges

Shamit Saggar, Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at ISER will be speaking at the ESRC’s launch of the Festival of Social Science at the Royal Society on 7 November, 6-9.30pm.

The event, hosted by Springer Nature partnered with the Economic and Social Research Council, is an opportunity to question leading UK social scientists on a range of global issues from climate change, migration, to effective economic and social policies, global health and the challenges of interdisciplinarity.

The event will be hosted by Laurie Taylor of Radio 4’s Thinking Allowed, with speakers including Professor Saggar, Professor Lord Nicholas Stern, Chair of the ESRC Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy and the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and Professor Felicity Callard, Director of the Birkbeck Institute for Social Research.
