Understanding Society consultation launched

The team behind Understanding Society is inviting users of the study to take part in an important consultation to help plan and implement Waves 6-8.

The consultation, covering the questionnaires used to date and the long term content plan, comes after the survey received confirmation that the next three sets of interviews with participants will be funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

ISER Director, Professor Heather Laurie, explained why getting people’s views on the study’s content was so important:

“As the study enters the next five year phase, the consultation represents an opportune moment to reflect and review the content and to consider any changes which may be needed to meet the research needs anticipated over the coming years.”

Interviews for Understanding Society began in January 2009 following an extensive consultation on the content of the questionnaires prior and the development of a long term content plan.
