ISER to advise Government on evaluating Universal Credit

Professor Stephen Pudney, Director of the ESRC Research Centre on Micro-Social Change at ISER, has been invited to join the Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) External Advisory Group for the Evaluation of Universal Credit.

Its aim is to advise the DWP on the programme of research which will evaluate the design of the new Universal Credit programme, which is to replace the existing means-tested benefit system (comprising mainly Income Support, Housing Benefit, Working Tax Credits and Employment & Support Allowance) over the period 2013-2017.
