New joint ESRC/ONS funded studentship

Jointly funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the University of Essex is offering one fully-funded studentship worth up to £18,000 for a talented postgraduate student to carry out three years of doctoral research (+3) on a topic relevant to the ONS’ Beyond 2011 programme. This is open to Home and EU applicants only for an October 2011 start.

Details of how to apply:

  • Students must apply to study at the University through postgraduate admissions and have an offer of a place for a PhD in order to apply for this funding.
  • Once they have received an offer for a place they can apply for this ESRC/ONS studentship by completing the application form and submitting a reference demonstrating why they are a very strong candidate for the funding.
  • All applications must be submitted by Friday 1 July 2011
