ISER welcomes ESRC appointment

The appointment of Professor Paul Boyle as Chief Executive of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) has today been welcomed by the team at ISER.

Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable announced his appointment yesterday.

Paul, currently at St Andrews University, where he is Head of the School of Geography and Geosciences, has extensive experience of working with large scale and longitudinal studies, not least as Director of the ESRC funded Longitudinal Studies Centre – Scotland, and as founder of the census-based Scottish Longitudinal Study.

ISER Director, Heather Laurie said:
