Sethlina is a Senior Research Officer with research interest in statistical, population and quantitative genetics.  Her current research aims to deepen our understanding of complex health outcomes by exploring the intersections between genetics and environment including socioeconomic conditions and public health using the UKHLS data within the Understanding society study.

Sethlina earned her PhD in Pathology (Genomics) from the University of Cambridge and subsequently, worked as a Research associate in Statistical Genetics at the Bristol Medical School, University of Bristol, building up on her expertise in analysing large-scale genomic data sets.

In her current role at ISER, Sethlina plays a key role in the management of biomarker and genetics data within the Understanding Society, which includes, genetic data application reviews, coordinating data sharing protocols and providing expert support to researchers utilizing Understanding Society’s genetic  and biomarker data resources.  In this role, Sethlina supports an international community of researchers ensuring the ethical and effective use of Understanding Society’s biomarker and genetic data leading to robust and impactful findings.
