I am Giacomo, from Rome, Italy and I’m currently in my second year as an ISER PhD student in Economics at the University of Essex.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Health Economics from Sapienza, Universita di Roma, and started my PhD project in October 2023, focusing on Pregnancy and Early Childhood.
Under the supervision of Professor Michaela Benzeval and Dr. Edith Aguirre, I’m part of the Understanding Society team, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), through the SeNSS program.
My research interests lie in child health, health economics, households economics, and applied economics.
I am exploiting the uniqueness offered by UKHLS data about children under 10 years old, using the Pregnancy and Early Childhood (PEACH) file to conduct research on child development and well-being aiming to shape policies, practices, and interventions that ensure a healthy and supportive environment for children.
