We are looking to appoint a Senior Research Officer with an emerging research record in quantitative social science. We are particularly interested in researchers that are working on the impact of new technologies, such as generative AI, in areas such as education, labour markets, or health. Alternatively, we are interested in researchers who are familiar with the use of new empirical methods, such as large language models, vision transformers, natural language processing, and can demonstrate the value of these methods in social science research.
The successful applicant will work under the direction of one of MiSoC’s senior researchers depending on fit with their research expertise. MiSoC’s senior group includes Prof Del Bono (MISoC Director), Prof Paul Clarke (ISER), Dr Ben Etheridge (Economics), Prof Meena Kumari (ISER), Prof Renee Luthra (Sociology and Criminology), Prof Birgitta Rabe (ISER), and Dr Spyros Samothrakis (Chief Scientific Adviser and School of Computer Science & Electronic Engineering). The post-holder will have the opportunity to carry out their own research as well as contribute to the activities of the Centre.
This post is fully funded by MiSoC for 18 months.
