What do we know & what should we do about? Social science on social issuesMISOC

Social science is integral to our understanding of society, helping inform and shape the future of our world for the better. So how can social science help us understand and address the big issues of today, such as immigration, inequality and the future of work? Launching a new series of short books, in this panel discussion, Chris Grey, Melanie Simms, Mike Brewer and Jonathan Portes will come together to discuss the impact of social science in society, showing how it provides vital insight into issues such as these which are often misrepresented or simplified in the mainstream media. Examining the power of social science to inform both policy makers and the general public, it will explore social sciences crucial role in helping us to formulate the direction and action we should take as a society in response.
