This workshop brings together the world’s leading experts in experimental economics, who are currently working on education and the development of socio-emotional skills in children and adolescents. The participating experts will present novel evidence on the predictive power and the malleability of key socio-emotional skills within the context of time and risk preferences, self-confidence, grit and competitiveness. In particular, recent empirical results from unique randomized educational interventions that aim to improve the outcomes of children and adolescents will be discussed. The main objective of the workshop is to initiate discussions on future novel interventions targeting socio-emotional skills and to spur new collaborations amongst the participants.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. In addition we will be hosting a subsidised dinner at Wivenhoe House in the evening. Due to generous funding from the ESRC we are able to provide accommodation and travel bursaries to a number of PhD students interested in attending, on a first come, first served basis.
