Disability Benefits: who claims them and what difference do they make?ISER Internal Seminars

Attendance Allowance and Disability Living Allowance are paid to
disabled people to help them meet the additional costs associated with
being disabled. We will discuss three research issues:

1. A recent paper addressing the suggestion that the money currently
spent on benefits would be more effective if spent on social care services.

2. A current project examining how the impact of these benefits might be
measured.

3. A new proposal to estimate take up rates.
We are hoping for feedback, especially on the measurement issues raised
under headings 2 and 3.
