Modern motherhood – new research findings at the ESRC Festival of Social Science

As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science we are presenting recent research on modern motherhood:

  • How does maternal depression influence women’s empowerment, and parenting decisions? Presented by Professor Sonia Bhalotra

  • does time spent with mums make a difference to children’s development? Presented by Professor Emilia Del Bono

  • do our childcare policies support mums back into work? Presented by Dr Birgitta Rabe

The event is open to the public, policymakers, journalists, charities, thinktanks and practitioners and will be held at Broadway House, Tothill Street, Westminster on Wednesday 8th November from 10am-1pm.

There will be a panel discussion and Q&A session after the presentations, chaired by Professor Pam Cox, to discuss the possible implications for policymakers, health practitioners and families.
