The ISER team will be well represented at the biannual European Survey Research Association Conference at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik in July. A large team of researchers will present findings from our latest methodological studies to over 900 international experts in surveys, commissioners and policy makers.
In total 11 ISER studies will be presented during the conference including:

Professor Peter Lynn on Assessing targeted approach letters: effects in different modes on response rates, response speed and sample composition (based on an IP experiment).

Professor Nick Allum, Research Associate at ISER and General Secretary of ESRA said:
“ESRA is the pre-eminent conference for survey research in Europe and, as General Secretary of ESRA, I am delighted to see such a strong presence from ISER. I shall be presenting some work on mode effects that comes from an experiment on the Innovation Panel of Understanding Society. The conference also provides a great opportunity for PhD students to present their work and to make useful contacts from academia and from industry. Two of my current students are presenting their work in Reykjavik.”
Delegates to take the grip strength test
If you’re heading to the conference, please come and say hello to the team. We’ll be partnering up with the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) to measure delegates’ grip strength and compare it to our 15,000-person sample from the UK household panel study, Understanding Society.
